What is ACB?

The automatic air switch, which belongs to the family of automatic switches, is known by the abbreviation ACB – the abbreviation of Air Circuit Breaker. The air switch is a type of low pressure automatic breaker that is used in high currents and at the entrance of the low pressure switchboard. Since the act of extinguishing the spark when switching takes place in a chamber filled with free air, this switch is called an air switch. One of the main functions of the air switch is circuit switching and protection.
